About Us

It all comes down to loving God and loving people. If we can do that well, everything else will fall into place.

Supt. Charles and Natalie Stevenson

We have a place for you and your family

  • A church where you can begin your personal spiritual journey.
  • A safe space for your children to learn Christian principles.
  • A community where your family can grow together with other families.

Trusting God like any relationship takes time and effort. We believe that through worship, Life Groups, Serve Teams, and prayer you will learn how to trust God and gain the spiritual tools to put your faith into action.

Our Vision

Our vision is to change the lives of people through faith in God, families, and friendships. Together, we can create a church that not only stands the test of time but also shines as a beacon of faith, a haven for families, and a place of authentic friendships. We envision a church where faith is not just a Sunday ritual but a guiding light in our everyday lives.

Our Mission

Our mission is to win the lost and make disciples.

Grow As A Disciple

We aren’t perfect. We often find ourselves having done things we regret. We each have a different story. You might be surprised that you aren’t alone in the types of decisions you’ve made or maybe the things you still struggle with now. But God has created us to live in community, and He can use your unique background for His purpose. Like pieces in a puzzle, we’re all different but fit together to make something better.

Belong to Community

Everyone has a need to connect with something greater than themselves and with other people who are working to make a difference in the world. We can’t do life alone; we need each other.

Go Make A Difference

Our mission at Ignite Church is to guide you in building a personal relationship with God. As you grow in this relationship, you’ll continually find more freedom in Christ and embrace the purpose He has for your life. You can live out your purpose and make a difference in the world by serving others with your God-given strengths.

Supt. Charles A. Stevenson, Jr.

Senior Pastor

Superintendent Charles A. Stevenson, Jr. possesses an unwavering devotion to God’s Word and a profound love for God’s people. His ministry radiates with a contagious spirit of generosity, touching every aspect of his work. God has entrusted him with a divine calling, and Supt. Stevenson faithfully serves as the Pastor of Bethel, Dubach, and Progressive Churches of God in Christ, offering a prophetic voice to the chosen generation.

In unity with his closest confidant, Lady Natalie Stevenson, they labor side by side in the ministry. Together, they are blessed with four wonderful children: Charles Allen, Camille Rose, Charles Hamilton, and Carmen Rose.

Supt. Stevenson’s journey into ministry commenced at the tender age of 23 at Bethel Church of God in Christ, under the wise leadership of his father, Superintendent Charles A. Stevenson, Sr. His divine calling empowers him to minister to a world in need, and he accepted the pastorate of Progressive Church of God in Christ in August 1998, a position he continues to fulfill faithfully.

Following the passing of his father, Pastor Charles Stevenson, Jr. assumed the role of pastor at Bethel Church of God in Christ and Superintendent of the Progressive Community District in January 2021, under the guidance of Bishop James Proctor, the Jurisdictional Prelate of the Historical Louisiana First Jurisdiction. Additionally, upon the passing of Supt. Billy Caldwell, Superintendent Charles Stevenson, Jr. was called to serve as interim pastor of Dubach Church of God in Christ, a role he still holds today.

Supt. Stevenson’s educational journey includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is a proud graduate of the Charles Harrison Mason Bible College and holds a Certificate of Continuing Education in Theology from Interdenominational Theological Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia. Furthering his leadership expertise, he earned a Master of Arts in Executive Leadership from Liberty University and currently serves as the Division Chair of Industrial Technology at Louisiana Delta Community College.

Bethel, Dubach, and Progressive Churches of God in Christ are truly blessed to have Superintendent Stevenson as their shepherd. Through his deep connection with the Lord, God’s kingdom has flourished abundantly, and the promise of “The Best is Yet to Come” continues to shine brightly.
